    Satikanta Guha Memorial Humanities Seminar

    Education is not the filling of a pail but its the lighting of a fire. In the 21st century education has become one of the prime areas of dialogue debate and discussions. To take the discussion a notch up and have a discourse on Education for schools in a changing environment Garden High International School organised the Satikanta Guha Memorial Humanities Seminar an annual academic event the sixth of its series on 27th Sept 2019 at their school premises. Our students of class XI (Vishakha Bagchi, Sana Ahmad, Snehal Gupta and Swastik Chakraborty) presented a paper titled The Importance of Mental Health in Education. The seminar witnessed a point if interaction between students and eminent panelists comprising of Prof. Samik Bandopadhay, Dr. Jai Ranjan Ram, Ms. Tina Servaia and Prof. Malini Bhattacharya. Students were illuminated about becoming resilient and look at education as a journey and not as a race. Collaboration rather than competition should be the watchword for success.

    GRANDPARENTS DAY

    Grandparents are always very dear to grandchildren. They are a great source of inspiration and are the guidelines for their grandchildren. Students of Future Campus took the opportunity to honour their grandparents on a special day. First of all, they greeted their grandparents with handmade flowers. Then, they presented a beautiful cultural programme, singing songs and performing a drama “Utsho-The Origin”, very appropriate for the occasion. The grandparents were proud of their grandchildren. They enjoyed the programme and felt very special.

    Stress Management Program for Teachers at Future Campus School, Sonarpur

    42 teachers of Future Campus School, Sonarpur along with 20 teachers from different CBSE schools like DPS Ruby Park, Indus Valley World School, DAV Public School , Hariyana Vidyamandir, Gokhale Memorial Girls’ School and Jyotirmoy Public School had the opportunity to attend a Capacity Building Program on Stress Management organized by CBSE at Future Campus School, Sonarpur on 31st August 2019. The workshop was facilitated by CBSE appointed Resource Persons, Ms. Sudeshna Ghoshal and Ms. Arunima Mukherjee who are the Principal and School Counsellor of Future Campus School, Sonarpur respectively. In today’s lifestyle most of us often get stressed even with minimal stimulation which consequently affects our functioning immensely. The workshop helped the teachers to learn primarily that there might be stressors at every point but it depends on us how we perceive them and respond. We should opt for handling those stressors with effective coping strategies rather than with the faulty ones. By the end of the program the participants learnt about how to identify stressors and deal with them effectively.

    SENIOR INTER HOUSE DANCE COMPETITION FCS, Sonarpur

    Dance is a way to express one’s emotions and feelings synchronizing with the rhythm of music. In fact, in the ancient times dancers were considered to be the messengers of God expressing various emotions and narrating a story in an impactful manner. The SENIOR INTER HOUSE DANCE COMPETITION 2019 which was held at the auditorium, included solo, duet and group dances by all the four houses, left us mesmerized and thrilled which were performed by students from classes IX to XII. The themes were Rashleela based on classical dance form for solo. MANIPURI, KATTHAK, ODISSI and BHARATNATYAM dance forms were performed by red, blue, yellow and green house respectively. For duet folk dance of Odissa was selected as the theme. CHAITI, SAMBALPURI, BAAGH NACH and GOTIPUA were performed by red, blue, yellow and green house respectively. Group dances were given the theme of folk dance of India. GIDDHA, the folk dance of Punjab were portrayed by red house. Blue house participants performed on GHOOMER, a folk dance of Rajasthan. YAKSHAGANA, a traditional Indian theatre form developed in kannada was the theme for yellow house. Finally a brilliant performance on TUSU, a dance form celebrating the arrival of auspicious and pleasant season was presented by greenhouse. The beauty of the art form was exquisitely depicted by the children and all could witness the rich heritage of our motherland. The yellow house won in both solo and group dance with red house bagging the first prize for duet.

    Teachers’ Day, 2019

    To teach is to touch a life forever.”No other profession would probably exist if there were no teachers.To appreciate their gratitude and appreciation for their teachers, Future Campus School, Sonarpur celebrated Teachers’ Day with gusto and gaiety.Students put up scintillating cultural programme to honour the love, respect, recognition, hardwork put in by their teachers.Principal Ms. Sudeshna Ghoshal took to the podium to enlighten the students on the purpose of the programme.Teachers enjoyed the programme and appreciated the good work put up by the students.

    REPORT ON JUNIOR INTER HOUSE DANCE COMPETITION

    Consciousness expresses itself through creation. This world we live in is the dance of the creator. Dancers come and go in the twinkling of an eye but DANCE lives on. Dance is a performing art form consisting of purposefully selected sequences of human movement. This movement has aesthetic and symbolic value, and is acknowledged as Dance. Dance is a powerful impulse, but the art of dance is that impulse channeled by skillful performers into something that becomes intensely expressive and a delight for the spectators.

    The Junior Inter House Dance Competition 2019 was held at the main auditorium. The four houses put up their best performances in the solo, duet and group dances. Each performance left us spellbound. The students from classes VI to VIII were part of the competition. The Solo performances showcased four iconic women characters from Hindu Mythology; Draupadi, Durga, Radha and Ganga by Red, Blue, Yellow and Green house respectively. For the duet performances the theme was poems from poets of various genres; ‘Agami’ by Sukanto Bhattacharya, ‘Kalgharer Chiler Kanna’ by Nirendranath Chakraborty, ‘Kandhari Hushiyar’ by Kazi Nazrul Islam and ‘Meghbalika’ by Joy Goswami by Red, Blue, Yellow and Green house respectively. The group dances were given songs from Kabi Guru Rabindranath Tagore’s operas and dance dramas. Tasher Desh, Chitrangada, Valmiki Pratibha and Bhaunusingher Padabali showcased by Red, Blue, Yellow and Green house respectively. We witnessed some captivating performances by the children and each performance highlighted a myriad of diverse cultural and literary influences of our country.

    The Yellow House won in both group and solo performances and Red House bagged the first position in the duet performance.

    INTER – CLASS CHOIR SONG COMPETITION (JUNIOR)

    Today, on 27th August 2019, Future Campus School, Sonarpur celebrated the ‘Junior Inter – class choir song competition’ which was based on the theme of patriotism.The students of class one to five performed on various patriotic songs in different languages.

    The celebration commenced with a brief introduction about choir and the theme of patriotism. Next, the judges were heartily welcomed and felicitated by the students of class five. The panel of judges had Mrs. Sreemoye Banerjee, who is a trained Rabindra Sangeet singer and Ms. Paramita Bhattacharya who is a faculty of our very own school library.

    One by one all the five classes gave their performances on songs like ‘Nanha munna rahi hoon’ by students of class 1 followed by the very famous song ‘Dhono dhanne’ by the students of class 2. The students of class 3 performed on the heartfelt nationalist song ‘Muktiro mandiro’ followed by the students of class 4 who performed on the song ‘Sabarmati ke sant’ which is a song dedicated to Mahatma Gandhi. The last performance was given by the students of class 5 on the song ‘Bidir badhan’, a song from the movie ‘Ghore baire’.

    After the mesmerizing performances, the Judges announced the winners. The first position was given to Class 3 followed by Class 1 in the second and Class 2 and 4 in the third position.

    The competition concluded with the informative tips given by the judges and a beautiful performance by Mrs. Sreemoye Banerjee which made the event musically enriching for the students of classes 1 to 5.

    Tree Plantation Utsav at FCS Sonarpur

    Abiding by the footsteps of the nobel laureate Tagore Future Campus School, Sonarpur organised Moru Bijayer Ketan Urao a cultural programme to instil in the students the virtues of tree plantation as one of the best ways to fight global warming and climatic changes Students of classes VI to VIII participated in the programme. Students collectively put up beautiful performances to catch the popular imaginations of students to plant trees for the love of them. Honourable Principal of the institution Mrs Sudeshna Ghoshal wound up the programme by planting a tree encouraging her students to do the same for the welfare of mankind.

    Independence Day Celebration at Future Campus School, Sonarpur

    Date : 15.08.2019

    15th of August, 2019 marks the 73rd anniversary of The Indian Independence. This day is celebrated in all parts of the country in remembrance of the sacrifices made and the tremendous torture endured by our forefathers in the struggle for freedom,
    from the British Rule.

    Commemorating the occasion, a programme was organised by the students and staff of Future Campus School. The Indian Tricolour was hoisted in a special assembly, conducted by the students. This was followed by some performance by the students to pay homage to the freedom fighters and the country at large. Patriotic songs composed by Kaviguru Rabindranath Tagore, like “Bidhir Bandhon Kaatbe Tumi Amon Shaktiman” to songs from Hindi movies like “Aye watan” were performed. A drama named “Shroddha”, written and directed by the teachers, acted by the students from classes 5 to 11, depicting the life and contribution of an Army official was staged. A few deprived children from the neighbouring area were also a part of the Celebration. They witnessed the entire programme and were given light refreshments. It was a happy moment for these children as some of them have never been to schools.

    The day was observed in true spirit, with the enlightening message from The Principal for all students and staff, to be one and to spread a note of togetherness and brotherhood, to have the strength and courage to fight against evil forces, to love the motherland.

    World Yoga Day FCS Sonarpur

    This World Yoga Day the students of Future Campus School learned Addition again – “Addition of ENERGY STRENGTH and BEAUTY to BODY MIND and SOUL”.

    Senior Inter house Music Competition

    In the course of history music has been the greatest creation of mankind. Creativity in its pure and undiluted form is the true definition of music.Music reflects our thoughts and emotions.To celebrate music and bring out the talent of the students Future Campus School Sonarpur organized an inter-house music competition on 28th June 2019 at the school auditorium.Classes IX, X and XI participated in the competition which was divided into the solo,duet and group categories ably judged by Mrs Reshmi Bandopadhay and Mrs Ananya Mukherjee. The themes comprised of hymns for solo, folk for duet and community songs for group.Children participated with a lot of zeal, passion and confidence.The songs pulled the heartstrings of the audience.The first positions were taken by Red House in the solo category, Green House in the duet category and Blue House in the Group category.

    Seminar on Flavour of Chemistry FCS Sonarpur

    It was a great privilege and honor for all FCS family members to have Dr. Samaresh Bhattacharya, a dignitary and an eminent scientist in the midst of us on 10.7.2019. Dr. Bhattacharya is a faculty member in the Department of Inorganic Chemistry, Jadavpur University, Kolkata. His areas of research interest are coordination chemistry of the platinum group of metals, organometallic chemistry and catalysis. He has received the prestigious S.S Bhatnagar award in 2005. He is a life-time member of various reputed associations like Indian Chemical Society, IACS, Chemical Research Society of India to name a few. Dr. Bhattacharya has 146 publications in highly reputed national and international journals in his credit, and supervised more than 28 Ph.D students.

    The topic of the seminar was’ Flavors of Chemistry’. As the name indicates, he had discussed different arenas of inorganic chemistry, specifically, Coordination chemistry.

    He concluded his talk with quotes of Karl Marx, Einstein, Swami Vivekananda and Rabindranath Tagore that followed question-answer session.

    The entire session was very informative and interactive for all the students from the senior school as well as for the teachers.

    Inter House Nukkad Natak Competition FCS Sonarpur

    The Inter House Nukkad Natak Competition of FCS, Sonarpur portrayed the concept of street play with a message very ably. Red house has chosen the theme of misuse of mobile phones. Blue house was determined to show the pain, loneliness that our elders go through in their old age. Green house sent out a strong social message to respect our mothers by showing mother is the pivot of family. Yellow house very effectively portrayed the evils of corruption. Green house won the first prize followed by red house in the second position and blue house in the third position.

    Non Fire Cooking FCS Sonarpur

    Nestle India limited organised a non fire cooking competition in Future Campus School, Sonarpur on 18th june’19.Classes X, XI and XII took part in it. The participants were asked to prepare a healthy savoury and a sweet dish. They were given 30 minutes to prepare and garnish their dishes. All ingredients were provided by the organisers. The contestants had to choose the ingredients for their recipe from the ingredients provided. Mrs Sharmila Chatterjee and Mrs Sangita Sen, teachers of Future Campus School judged the competition. Vishakha Bagchi and Riya Ray of Class XI/D were declared the Winners. Prizes were awarded to the winner and the 1st and 2nd runner up by Mrs Sudeshna Ghoshal, Principal, Future Campus School.

    Ekka Dokka Revisited FCS Sonarpur

    Sports is an expression of the societal cultural system of the society, it is a mirror of the rituals and values of the place we belong to.Gradually in the era of globalisation the habit of imitation has increased manifold which has resulted in diversion from the roots. To introduce our students to these gradually fading away cultural games Future Campus School, Sonarpur organised a traditional folk game called Ekka Dokka (hopscotch) also known as satkhela for the students of classes VI, VII and VIII at the school ground during the GPT periods. Students participated enthusiastically in the game which helped them get accustomed to the conventional culture of Bengal.

    Times Edu Shine Awards FCS Sonarpur

    On 29.06.19 (Saturday) Times of India Group had invited not less than 90 schools from all over West Bengal to felicitate the Toppers in the Board Examination from the respective schools. The programme was held at Nazrul Manch. AISSCE Toppers from FUTURE CAMPUS SCHOOL, Raunak Chatterjee, Saswata Ghosh and Debatosh Pal Majumdar received the TIMES EDUSHINE AWARD, along with AISSE Toppers Ifza Parvin, Anaranya Chakraborty and Gargi Ganguly. Pradipta Chakraborty, from class 12, who is a budding talent in the field of music was felicitated with the TIMES FUTURESHINE AWARD, for her exceptional achievements. Arijoy Ghosh who is also from the same class was rewarded the FUTURESHINE certificate for his commendable achievements in the field of gymnastics, at both state and national level. Senior Teachers Dr. Aparna Dhar and Ms. Abira Guha were also honoured by the group. It was a prestigious moment for all, to have received the prize from eminent actor Mr. Barun Chandra. It was indeed a very special and prized day for FCS as Ifza Parvin’s All India Rank got elevated to number 7 and that her State Rank being 5, after a review in a couple of subjects, done by the Board.

    SOF Olympiad 2018-19

    Heartiest Congratulations on an exceptional performance in SOF – International Olympiad conducted during the academic year 2018 -2019.

    We have achieved Zonal Ranks and International Rank in West Bengal, Andaman & Nicobar. This is indeed a very commendable performance by our students. We compliment all teachers, parents and students for their excellent performance and applaud their hard work. Ifza Parvin has achieved the Best All-rounder Award 2018 -2019. Ms. Sharmila Chatterjee has also achieved the Best Overall Coordinator Award 2018-2019.

    Bengali Elocution Competition at Garden High International School

    Bedanto Biswas of class IX has secured 2nd position in the category of Bengali Elocution Competition at Garden High International School. He has received Starmark Gift Voucher of Rs.5000 and the School has received voucher of Rs.2000.

    Actor-Activist Bobby Chakraborty conducted Anti-Addiction awareness session at Future Campus School

    This interactive awareness session was held on 14th January, 2019 with the students of classes VII – XII. In this session students were informed about the harmful effects of addiction without any ambiguities. Students could also get their doubts addressed in this session.

    Celebrating Cross-Cultural Student Exchange at Future Campus School

    On 29th January, 2019, Future Campus School collaborated with five Irish Schools namely Our Lady’s Secondary School, Templemore; Regina Mundi College, Cork, Colaiste Choilm Ballincollig, Co. Cork, Loreto Secondary School Fermoy, Co. Cork to spread the spirit cultural awareness, global understanding, and social responsibility through meaningful experiences.

    Students from both the countries participated in myriad activities like lantern making, Indo-Tibetan Cham dance from Ladakh, traditional Irish brush dance.

    FCS Students Contributed to the Vigil Awareness Week with Paintings

    Students participated in the painting competition organized by Eastern Railway Vigilance Department form 29th October to 3rd November, 2018. Adrija Chakraborty, Sayam Mukherjee and Adrita Santra of Class-VIII and from the senior group Anusua Sanrdar and Rupjit Singh of Class IX and Sucharita Nath of Class X, participated in this painting competition and received Certificates and cash award. Their painting was also published in the Vigilance Departmental Bulletin “Jagriti”

    Future Campus School Organized Inter-House Salad Making Competition

    Students from each house formed groups to participate in this competition. The participants gathered all the essential ingredients to showcase their salad decoration. Yellow House were the winners in this competition. They were evaluated based on their workmanship, creativity, presentation, design and taste.

    Future Campus School organizes Inter-house Flower Decoration Competition

    Four students were selected from each house to participate in this competition. They had to design the concept and assemble ingredients to showcase their flower decoration. Blue House scored the highest based on their workmanship, creativity, presentation and design.

    Pre-Christmas Celebration Moments at Future Campus School

    Children sang melodious carols, performed a short skit and danced with the Santa and celebrated in sync with the Christmas spirit to spread joy and happiness around.

    FCS Students celebrates National Education Day

    Students celebrated the birthday of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, the first education minister of independent India with creative posters, essays and placards. Students wrote thought-provoking essays on Adult Education, Women Employment and on the Life and Words of Moulana Abul Kalam Azad to emphasize the importance of this day. Moreover, a vibrant student rally was organized to spread awareness about education around us.

    Youth Parliament – Inter- house Parliamentary Debate Competition

    The session was conducted on 31st October 2018 on AADHAR: A Breach in Privacy. Students from classes IX, X and XI, from Red, Blue, Yellow and Green Houses respectively participated and presented different perspectives on this issue. The Green House students won the first prize in this debate competition owing to their ability to express their ideas and thoughts logically and confidently.

    Subhadeep Mitra (Class-XI) won the gold medal in CBSE Far East Zone Taekwondo Championship

    The event was held in Guwahati on 3rd October 2018, for Category where Subhadeep won the first prize for the category above 87 Kg under 19 age.

    Going forward Subhadeep will represent in the CBSE national games

    This is one of the many initiatives where over and above their academic pursuits, students are encouraged to imbibe a spirit of collective responsibility to contribute towards humanity with love, compassion and accountability.

    FCS Students are reading out news at the Blind Boys Academy

    Two students from classes – IX to XI are being shortlisted every day to read out English and Bengali news to the blind boys of the Academy during assembly time. This initiative which started from 27/8/2018 and will continue henceforth is to provide students with an experiential learning of social responsibility.

    Future Campus School Celebrated Teachers Day 2018

    The event started with a special tribute to Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, our former President in whose honour the tradition of teachers’ day began. The day was celebrated with stellar song, dance and drama performances of students.

    72nd – Independence Day Celebration

    Future Campus School students and teachers celebrated Independence Day with flag hoisting, parade, patriotic cultural programmes, NDTV organized painting competition on the theme “Salute to our Indian army” and distribution of school bags to the local underprivileged children associated with Hope Foundation.

    FCS Winners of Euphoria 2k18 organized by BDMI

    We are proud of Dayash Kashyap (XI) & Sourik Saha (XI) for securing third position in the Bird’s-eye event and Rajdeep Basu(XI) & Ritesh Banerjee(XI) for being the 2nd prize winners in the Rhythm Rockers event in Euphoria 2k18.

    Students showcased their dancing talents in unique themes in solo, duet and group category.Jayita Bhowmik of Green House, Oishee and Anohita – (Green House-duet category) and overall Blue House dancing team were the winners in this competition.

    Junior School Music Competition organized on 7th August 2018

    In order to inspire young ones to pursue music an inter-house junior school music competition was organized by Future Campus School. Students of classes VI-VIII participated in this competition. The musical event was divided into three categories Solo, Duet and Group.

    Sreyoshi Dwivedi – Blue House – Solo Competition; Mouktika Mahanti and Arinita Jana – Yellow House – Duet Competition; and the Red House- Group Competition won the 1st prizes in this competition in different categories.

    Future Campus School – Interhouse Music Competition

    The Senior School students (Classes – VI to XI) participated in the music competition on 9th July 2018. The competition was divided into three categories solo, duet and group on Indian Classical, Nazrul Geeti, Ragashroyee themes.

    Inter-class Dance Competition for Primary Class Students on 2nd May, 2018

    The students danced on Rabindra Sangeet and a pot-pourri of folk dances from different regions of India. The competition was judged by Mrs. Reshmi Chaki an accomplished Kathak dancer and a gold medalist in folk dance.

    Chinese Puppet Show for FCS Primary School Students

    The puppet show organised on 3rd May, 2018 enacted through puppets, the story of “The Little Red Riding Hood” a popular European fairytale about a brave small girl and a wicked wolf. The puppets were created by the school art teacher, Mr. Bikash Acharjee.

    This extra-curricular lesson inspired students with creativity and fun.

    10 Days National Adventure Programme at Panchmarhi

    Students learnt different life skills, team work, and discipline through participation in multi-dimensional activities like – setting up tents, rock-climbing, valley crossing, rappelling, archery, ladder climbing, horse riding, and rifle shooting among others.

    The students toured the 56 acres campus land under Satpura Reserved Forest, visited the Bison Lodge Museum and Pandava Caves, and trekked for 7 kms. to Jatashankar caves, Mahadev Tempe, Chauragarh and passed the breathtaking Bee Falls and celebrated connect with nature.

    Every night students lighted camp fire and chatted with their camp mates and mentors, performed dances, songs and skits. Students expressed their thoughts and ideas about how to become creative and productive through interactive group discussions.

    Panel Discussion on Safety and Security of Children in Schools on 23rd March 2018

    The panel discussion hosted by Future Campus School in association with BNCCI collaborated with IPS Officers, Lawyers, Educationists, Psychiatrists, Senior Journalists to engage school teachers, school principals, administrators, students, parents and everyone concerned to deliberate and find out ways to ensure happiness, safety and security in school learning environment.

    Educator Smt. Meenakshi Atal (Heritage School), IPS Officer Sri Sandhi Mukherjee, Psychiatrist Dr. Rima Mukherjee, and Lawyer Mr. Saikat Biswas were the distinguished panelists who addressed the audience in the session, the discussion moderated by the eminent journalist Mr. Pradeep Gooptu.

    Multi-Disciplinary Students’ Exhibition organised on 20th March 2018

    Students’ from LKG to Class-XII participated and contributed towards this fair with their out-of-the-box design models created under the mentorship of their teachers. The exhibition was multi-disciplinary in approach and reflected the students’ awareness and comprehension in multiple subjects like – green energy, biotechnology, innovation in latest technology, game theories among others. Arts and crafts section and Library corners also reflected the thoughtful and the creative side in students.

    Annual Camp conducted by Bharat Scouts and Guides Unit

    Future Campus School in association with the Bharat Scouts and Guides team conducted an extensive “Annual Camp” for Classes VII & VIII students. Over 45 school students participated in the experiential drills which were designed to inculcate certain essential life-skills in them. Students learnt knotting of a rope, rope climbing, applying bandage and first aid for wounds and fracture, prepare improvised stretcher trolley and carry a patient to be able to deal with exigencies of life.

    Interschool Essay Competition Celebrating Wellness Week

    The competition was on the theme of “Wellness Vs. Illness” and Prakriti Paul of Class-X-A stood third in the Group C category and won the trophy. The trophy was awarded to her at ANTARAGRAM on 22nd February 2018.

    Karo Sambhav Workshop

    Students participated in this workshop not only to understand the importance of environment conservation but also to be able to implement E-waste management through three key steps. The students started with a survey, then moved on with the collection of E-waste through a scientific methodology that culminated into the final step, that is devising a model on systematic recycling of E-waste. The school has been awarded Silver Certificate in recognition of their extremely organized contribution towards e-waste movement.

    Farewell Ceremony for the Class-XII Batch

    The outgoing Class-XII batch was given farewell on 15th February 2018. An inspiring speech by Principal Sudeshna Ghoshal was given to the outgoing batch inspiring them to make a mark in their future. The speech was followed by a cultural programme hosted by the junior students of the school along with an entertaining ramp show where Sreya De and Souvik Bhowmick were declared as Miss and Mr. Fcs followed by a distribution of refreshment among the students.

    Reliance Foundation Junior NBA Programme, Kolkata to train students on Basketball techniques

    As a part of this programme, on 18th January, 2018 one of FCS teachers participated in the Trainer’s Academy at West Bengal Basket Association, Kolkata. On the other hand, coaches from NBA have also visited the school campus and trained students of Classes VI- X. Ex-NBA player as well as head coach of Junior NBA, Kolkata, Natalia Andrew from Portugal, trained our students with the techniques of playing Basketball on 20th February, 2018.

    POCSO Workshop was conducted to enable Child Protection Awareness

    The workshop was conducted by the eminent psychologist and rehabilitation consultant, Mr. K. Vishwanath. The session was organized to enlighten the FCS faculty members about the various Child Protection Policy related acts (POCSO) initiated by the Government. This will facilitate the child protection policy implementation in our school.

    Anandomela, the Fun & Food Fair was celebrated at Future Campus School on 19th January 2019

    This is the 5th year of Future Campus School celebrating the fun and food fair, Anandomela. Students made this fair happen under the guidance of their teachers. Amusement and delicious food stalls were put up in this forum with fascinating names like Little Italy, Hungry Tide, Pithe Puli, Games Scare, Fun Express among others. Students designed ingenious artifacts’ and exhibited them in the Art & Handiwork Exhibition. Like every year, this year too, the fund raised through this fair will be donated for the upliftment of underprivileged children.

    Participation in the Sahodaya Exhibition in January 2018

    FCS students namely Bedanto Biswas(Class-VII), Arka Bera (Class-VIII) and Rupjit Singh (VIII) demonstrated the working model on the theme “Save Water Save Earth” on 5th January 2018. This exhibition was inaugurated by Dr. Tapati Ghosh, president of Centre of Contemporary Communication at Sushila Birla School.

    Many esteemed schools participated in this exhibition for creating awareness and facilitate knowledge exchange our environment and its conservation. The model exhibited by FCS students demonstrated a comprehensive workflow that is inclusive of rain water harvesting, irrigation system, waste water management and Sadhguru River Rally.

    Inter-House Salad Decoration Competition

    Future Campus School organized an inter-house Salad Decoration Competition on 21/12/2017, to drive the awareness of healthy food habits among students from an early stage of their lives.

Through this initiative students learnt the art and technique of floral design that is instrumental in enhancing the aesthetics of any social or professional event, occasion or programme.

    FCS Secondary School Student, Table Tennis participant of West Bengal State and Inter District Championships 2017

    Swapnil Nath, Class IX FCS student participated in this championship which was organized by West Bengal Table Tennis association under the aegis of Table Tennis Federation of India.

    He represented the South 24 Parganas and won the second position in the sub-junior boys’ team event. This championship was held at Kshudiram Anushilan Kendra, Kolkata between 21.11.17 till 25.11.17.

    FCS participated in the One Nation Reading Together (ONRT)

    This is an initiative by Scholastic India to celebrate the pleasure of reading and to promote reading habits.

    Renowned teacher, author, editor Mrs. Chitralekha Bhaskar was the key resource person in the programme. It was an interactive session with the students of classes VI to IX where reading of newspapers, wrappers, and other resources were encouraged over and above books. The programme rounded off with an oath taken by the students to celebrate the joy of reading.

    FCS School Annual Day Celebration 2017

    This 24th November 2017, FCS celebrated the School Annual Day at Jai Hind Auditorium. This mega colourful event showcased the wide-angled talent of our budding futurities. Their passion and performance was zealously appreciated by their mentors and teachers. The heart-felt participation of the parents, students, and the entire FCS community added a new dimension to this grand event.

    The ABP Eklavya Award Winners

    Sohom Ray of Class- X and Adrita Santra of Class-VII were awarded with the illustrious The ABP Eklavya Award for their talent in recitation and dance. Sohom Ray bagged the second position in the Group B Category Recitation competition and Adrita Santra won the second position for her dancing talent in the Group A Category.

    The ABP Eklavya Award is committed to recognize regional student talents in the cultural arena and give them a platform to nurture their creative expression and take them to greater heights. They organized a succession of competitions across the state in Dance, Singing and Recitation recognized 9 talents from 10 Districts in West Bengal.

    Children’s Day

    On 14th of November Children’s Day was celebrated. The venue was the school auditorium. The morning section had their celebration from 8:30 a.m. where their teachers put up an entertaining and enjoyable programme which included dances, songs and recitation. In the afternoon session students gathered in the auditorium from 12:30 p.m. and thoroughly enjoyed the wonderful programme which was put up by their teachers. There was group dance, singing of medleys and a drama also.

    Choir Competition

    The Green House team was the winner of the Choir Competition organized by FCS on 17th August, 2017. This competition was part of their extra-curricular programme for holistic development of students.

    MUN Workshop

    The Model United Nations (MUN) workshop was conducted on 15th September 2017 at FCS to create awareness about the purpose and procedures of the MUN. In this session the specific insights on debate strategies, resolution writing, speeches and the art of persuasion related to MUN were explained to students with practical demonstrations.

    Feed The Need

    FCS participated in the “Clothes Donation Drive” conducted by Feed The Need an initiative by The Art of Living, Kolkata Chapter on 31st August, 2017, to help the traumatized flood victims of West Bengal. Through this initiative FCS students donated around 1500 clothes to support the cause. We hope that this small step taken by the students will lay the foundation for bigger contributions towards society in the future.

    Independence Day

    The Independence Day, 2017 was celebrated at FCS campus – Indian tricolor was unfurled followed by the national anthem and the new India pledge. The students commemorated the country’s Independence with patriotic songs, dance, and recitation. On this occasion, the school distributed food and gifts to the local underprivileged children.

    Pre Puja Social Responsibility Initiative

    FCS is celebrating the festival with the spirit of giving and sharing this Durga Puja Eve. The school teachers and students came together and gifted new clothing to the children of Hope Foundation and Mukti Rehabilitation Center.

    The Junior School Inter House Dance Competition – 24th August 2017 – FCS Auditorium

    Students from Classes VI to VIII participated in the competition representing the four houses Red, Blue, Yellow and Green.The entire programme was divided into three slots namely solo, duet and group performances and themes were separately provided to the houses.Raunak Singh of the green house bagged the first position in Solo performance.Yellow house participants Adrita Santra and Satwiki Bose stood first in Duet performance.

    Inter House Dance Competition – 27th July 2017, FCS Auditorium

    In this competition the solo performers performed on classical theme like Kathak, Mohiniyattam, Bharatnatyam and Sattruya whereas the duet and group performers danced on the theme of contemporary poets like Joy Goswami, Shubho Dasgupta,Shakti Chattopadhyay,Satyendranath Datta. Through these cultural initiatives Future Campus School (FCS) encourages the children to understand their culture and tradition and gives them a platform to showcase their talents.

    Junior Inter-House Music Competition – 25th July – FCS Auditorium

    This event by judged by Mrs. Deeprekha Mukhopadhyay, Mrs. Sudeshna Ghoshal, and Mr. Nitai Chakraborty was on the tabla. The competition was held in three divisions: Solo, duet and group. The theme of the solo music was ‘Bhajan’. In the duet, Red House sang the song of Manna Dey, Blue House the song of Jatileswar Mukhopadhyay, Yellow House the song of Himangshu Dutta and Green House the song of Kamal Dasgupta. The group had the theme ‘Salil Chowdhury’.
